Moss removed from a shaded roof without a pressure washer, Citrus Heights

Citrus Heights · Roof Cleaning & Moss Removal · 2026

Moss removed from a shaded roof slope by hand, without a pressure washer, to protect the roofing material.

Property type: Single-storey home with moss on the shaded slope

The challenge

Moss had taken hold on the parts of the roof that get the least sun and stay damp the longest. The owners wanted it stopped before it spread further — and cleaned off without high pressure being put through their roof.

What we did

We checked the condition and the roofing material first and picked a method that material could take. Plants, the front of the house and the drainage runs were covered before we started. The loose debris came off by hand, and the affected areas were treated without a pressure washer. We photographed the treated sections when we finished.

The result

The main growth and loose debris are off the roof, and what was left of the biological build-up was treated in a way that does not shorten the life of the roofing. The owners got photographs of the finished areas and guidance on what to watch for on those slopes.
