Gutter cleaning means emptying the full run of gutters, clearing the downspouts so water actually leaves the roof, and taking the debris away with us. What sets the price more than anything is what is in the trough. Dry leaf litter clears quickly with a blower. Once grass has taken hold up there and put down roots, no amount of air moves it, and the trough has to be emptied by hand. That takes longer and costs more, and it is worth knowing before a quote surprises you.

Small repairs while we are up there

Instead of leaving you to book someone else, the crew handles the small fixes on the same visit: re-sealing a seam that has started to weep, tightening a bracket that has pulled away from the fascia, and fitting guards over the trough if you want them, so the next season drops less in.

Gutters, roof or roofer?

Gutter cleaning stops at the trough. Moss and lichen on the roof itself are roof cleaning, a separate service with a different method. Replacing gutter sections or fascia is a roofing job, not a cleaning one, and we do not repaint gutters.

How the price is built

A visit is priced on the linear footage of gutter, the height of the house, the pitch of the roof, whether guards are already fitted, and how much has collected and in what form. Short runs sit at a $220 minimum. Reaching your roofline safely is the same setup for forty feet of gutter as for a hundred and forty, and the price only starts climbing past that point.

Process

How we do Gutter Cleaning.

  1. Length and height

    Tell us the approximate gutter length and the height of the house in your message. A person replies with a starting price built from linear footage plus the factors below.

  2. Check the trough

    We look at what is in the trough first, because leaf litter and root growth are different jobs at different prices.

  3. Blow out, pull roots

    Leaves are blown clear, and anything that has rooted comes out by hand.

  4. Downspouts cleared

    Downspouts are cleared so the water has somewhere to go.

  5. Repairs on the spot

    Seams are re-sealed and brackets tightened while we are up there, and guards are fitted if you asked for them.

Will you clean moss off the roof at the same time?

Not as part of gutter cleaning. Moss and lichen are handled by roof cleaning, a separate service: heavy moss is brushed off and the roof is treated so lichen dies at the root.
