Past the lint trap.

Most dryers get the lint trap wiped every load and nothing else, and that is the problem. The trap catches only a fraction of what the dryer puts out. The rest travels down the vent and builds up where you can't see it: around elbows, at the wall termination, anywhere airflow slows. A clogged vent makes the dryer take longer and use more power for each load, and a blocked vent is one of the more common causes of house fires that start in a laundry room. This is a safety visit as much as a cleaning one.

A visit clears the full run, not just the trap. We start with the lint trap and housing, then work from the machine end to the outside: the flexible duct behind the dryer, the rigid run through the wall or attic, and the exterior vent cap. The cap is the most common place airflow actually gets blocked, so it is checked and cleared on every job. The crew uses a flexible vent-cleaning brush system and a HEPA vacuum for lint extraction.

The length of the run and its bends decide the job. A single-story home with a short, straight run against an exterior wall is a quick visit. A two-story home where the vent climbs through a wall cavity with two or three elbows takes longer.

At the end, airflow is checked at the exterior cap with an airflow meter, so you have a reading that the dryer is venting again, not only a duct that looks cleaner.

The service stops at the vent. Dryer repair and appliance service belong to a technician, rerouting or replacing ductwork is outside our scope, and so is cleaning the washer or laundry room beyond the vent itself.

Do you repair the dryer itself?

No. Dryer repair is an appliance technician's job. We clear the vent and check the airflow; we do not service the machine, and we do not reroute or replace ductwork.

How do I know it worked?

We check it with an airflow meter. Airflow is measured at the exterior vent cap before we leave, so you get a reading rather than just a duct that looks clean.

What are the signs a dryer vent needs cleaning?

The main sign is a dryer that takes longer to dry a load. A clogged vent slows drying and uses more power per load, because the lint that gets past the trap builds up in the run and restricts airflow.
