Overview
Panels under pine and pollen
Most of the solar in Colfax sits on newer construction out in the foothills, where homes are more likely to fall under California's post-2020 solar requirement. The older houses near the rail depot predate that, so panels there are retrofits when they exist at all.
Foothill panels collect what the surrounding trees drop. Colfax sits higher than Auburn or Placerville, so pine needles, oak debris and pollen land on the glass through more of the year, and dry-season dust settles into the film between washes. Softened water lifts that without leaving the mineral spots hard water would.
Many of these newer homes are two-story, and a second-story roof or a steep pitch raises the job minimum regardless of how many panels are up there. We clean what we can reach and say so if a spot under a panel is out of reach.
While up there, the crew looks at the roof around the panels; cleaning it is priced separately.

Process
How we do Solar Panel Cleaning.
-
Panels and roof first
In your estimate request, tell us roughly how many panels there are and what the roof is like. Price is set by panel count and roof complexity, and a person replies with a starting price.
-
Soften the water
Water is softened before it touches the panels, so it does not leave the mineral film hard water would.
-
Wash by brush
Panels are washed with brushes and that softened water. No pressure washer, and no chemicals that could damage the coating.
-
Reach what we can
We wash everything we can reach. Not every spot under a panel is reachable, and we won't claim to reach the center of every one.
-
Check the roof below
The roof under and around the panels is checked while we are up there. Cleaning it is its own job, priced as roof cleaning.

Local notes
Working in Colfax.
Depot and foothills
Older houses cluster near the rail depot at the I-80 and Highway 174 crossroads. Newer builds sit farther out on foothill lots.
Original fixtures
Depot-area homes often still have their original fixtures, which take more care than the hardware in newer foothill houses.
Longer debris season
Being higher than Auburn or Placerville means oak leaves and pine needles keep coming down for more of the year, with summer dust added on top.

The crew was right on time and did a thorough job, leaving everything in my place looking great and taking good care not to disturb anything. Marianna comes every Monday and turns our mess into a home—I wouldn’t give her up for the world.
Very excellent service. The team was on time and easy to reach, and they did a great job on the windows. Friendly crew all around.
The cleaner paid close attention to detail and made sure to focus on the specific areas I asked about. They were on time, friendly, and easy to communicate with throughout the process.
Alina cleans my house every two weeks and does an excellent job. Always. I appreciate the clear communication and consistency. Highly recommend!
My house is absolutely beautiful. I’ve had difficulty being able to clean it to the level that I’m used to and so to have her come in yesterday and just do everything perfectly put me at such a sense of ease I can’t recommend this service any higher
Such a lovely experience . I do not live in the city where the cleaning services were performed. Yaryna was kind, easy to communicate with, clear and responded promptly. The work was outstanding as seen via pictures. Highly recommended this company. Thank you!
Amazing Customer service and my house is perfectly clean! Could not recommend more!
Natalia showed up on time to our cleaning appointment. She was extremely respectful, soft demeanor, and very kind. It's always difficult trusting strangers in our homes, but I felt completely comfortable with having her here. She did an amazing job cleaning, and I will definitely request her return. Thank you so much!
The ladies were very friendly, patient, and hardworking! They did a great job and worked hard to get everything done. I really appreciate their effort and would definitely recommend them!

(279) 300-0830Is my Colfax home more likely to have solar if it's away from the depot?
Generally, yes. Newer foothill construction is more likely to fall under California's post-2020 solar requirement than the older homes near the tracks.
Do you pressure wash panels in Colfax?
No. Panels are washed with brushes and softened water everywhere we work, never with a pressure washer.
Does a two-story Colfax home cost more for panel cleaning?
It can. A second story or a steep pitch raises the minimum for the job, regardless of how many panels are on the roof.
