Regular visits for river-canyon homes
Coloma has fewer homes than its name recognition suggests. About 70% of the town is inside the state historic park, and the houses we clean sit on the private land outside the boundary, mostly older and single-story.
Single-story layouts make for an efficient visit: no stairs, and the kitchen, bathrooms and living space are all on one floor. The age of the houses means more original fixtures and finishes, which get cleaned carefully rather than scrubbed hard.
The river is the local factor. Damp air off the South Fork means bathrooms dry slowly and mirrors and fixtures show it, so the bathroom pass tends to matter more here than in a drier foothill town.
