Ranch-home woodwork and oak-season floors
Applegate's houses split into two groups, and a regular clean feels different in each. The older ranch-style homes have more original woodwork and fixtures, which get cleaned with care rather than speed. Newer rural construction on larger lots has fewer of those details but often more floor area and a second story.
The foothill setting is the other factor. Oak debris comes down through the year and gets carried in on shoes and through patio doors, and dry-season dust settles over it. Entry floors and the rooms closest to the yard are where an Applegate visit tends to spend its extra minutes.
The checklist itself is the standard one, kitchen and bathrooms first, then dusting, floors, beds and trash. Applegate is about 45 minutes from our Sacramento base, and recurring visits are planned with that drive built in.
