Less shade, less moss
Moss needs shade to take hold, and Antelope's younger, sparser trees give it far less than the heavy canopy in a city like Citrus Heights. Raised moss that has to be brushed off by hand is less common on Antelope roofs. Flat lichen patches still show up, and the whole-roof treatment kills them at the root.
After treatment the lichen dies and blows off over the next two to three weeks, and the crew comes back to check the result. When houses sit close together, cleanup includes anything that landed on the neighbor's side.

Generally, yes. There is less shade for moss to take hold than in the metro's heavily canopied neighborhoods, so heavy brushing is needed less often. The lichen treatment still applies wherever lichen shows up.
Do you do the follow-up visit for Antelope roof jobs?
Yes. We return two to three weeks after the treatment to check the result, the same as on every roof we clean. By then the treated lichen has had time to die off and blow away.
