Moss under Village Homes' trees
Moss needs shade and moisture, and in Davis the shade is concentrated in Village Homes. The neighborhood's original green-design landscaping has grown into mature tree cover, and roofs under it hold damp longer through the cooler months. That is where we see raised moss that has to be removed mechanically with a brush before the treatment goes on.
Mace Ranch and North Davis Farms are newer and much less shaded. Roofs there are more likely to carry flat lichen patches or nothing at all, and a treatment on its own usually handles it.
