The method is a brush for heavy moss, a whole-roof treatment for lichen and small moss, and a return visit two to three weeks later. In Rescue, the trees decide most of the rest.
Rescue's foothill tree cover keeps roofs in shade more than on the valley floor, and shaded sections are where moss and lichen get established. The oaks also drop debris onto the roof through the year, and that debris has to come off along with the growth.
Lot size plays in as well. Rescue's larger, spread-out properties tend to come with more roof area per house than a subdivision home in Cameron Park or Shingle Springs. Where a neighbour's house does sit close, anything that comes off our roof work onto their side gets cleaned up.
Gutters catch the same oak debris, so they are worth asking about at the same time.
